A story of legacy
Food Momentum was born from a clear vision: to build a food brokerage focused on human relationships, rigour, and lasting performance.
From the very beginning, the company developed around strong values and an entrepreneurial spirit that have stood the test of time, markets, and generations. To this day, that culture remains at the heart of every partnership and every strategic decision.
October 2011
The foundation
Food Momentum was founded in October 2011 by Yvanko Cech, with the goal of creating a human-scale food brokerage firmly rooted in field reality.
From the start, the company grew with a family spirit, with his partner Nathalie Plante taking on the role of financial director. Together, they laid the groundwork for a rigorous organization, close to its clients and guided by values of trust and transparency.
March 2019
An expanding vision
In March 2019, Martin Provost joined the company as a partner.
Already involved in the development of Food Momentum, he actively contributed to structuring the company’s growth and strengthening its strategic vision.
This milestone marked a new phase of development, while preserving the entrepreneurial and human DNA that had built the company’s reputation.
April 2021
Another partner, a stronger team
In 2021, Marc-André Bergeron joined the team as a partner, alongside Martin Provost and Yvanko Cech.
Drawing on solid expertise in the meat sector and a keen understanding of the agri-food market, Marc-André actively contributed to structuring the company’s commercial approaches and strengthening its client relationships.
Known for his rigour, analytical mindset and strategic vision, he quickly became a cornerstone of Food Momentum’s growth — and was appointed Vice President of Sales in January 2026.
December 2025
A natural transition
On December 15, 2025, Martin Provost acquired Food Momentum.
This transition is a natural continuation: a company founded by one family, passed on to another, in keeping with the values that shaped it.
Today, Martin Provost leads the company surrounded by a committed team, including his daughters — Meghan Provost, Account Director for several years, and Elyzabeth Provost, who joined the team in 2026 as Sales Coordinator. Together, they continue to grow Food Momentum with the same vision: closeness, performance, and lasting growth.
